Chapter Mission

To provide a sustainable environment for all via preventive education, mitigation against the effects of climate change and alternative energy generation while employing the creativity of young minds for the creation of job opportunities. The Students for Sustainable Energy for All (SSEA) University of Calabar Chapter would key onto the United Nations declaration of 2014 – 2024 as “The Decade of Sustainable Energy for All” and Global Energy Initiative’s core mission of fighting energy poverty, protecting the environment, and mitigating the effects of climate change.

World Environment Day 2014 marked in grand style and much impact with a 3-day Environmental Outreach in primary and secondary schools in Calabar metropolis, Nigeria and a 10,000 person impact factor.

Highlights:
*Sanitation exercise and donation of waste baskets and sanitary items
*March4ME(March for Mother Earth) sensitization rally
*Planting of grasses / trees in school via the launching of the #PlantATree campaign / pledge designed to reach 150 schools within Calabar
*Environmental education and career talk for young school leavers
*Essay competition and football match.
